Lifts You May See At Work Soon

Altec's new LRV56 utilizes all the latest
technology for productivity, fuel efficiency and safety features.
With a working height of over 61 feet (56.3 feet to the bottom
of the platform), the lift has an 11 cubic yard chip box,
a chain saw lock box and is mounted on a sturdy 120-inch GMC
chassis.
Always
looking for better equipment for its ever-growing fleet, Asplundh's
Equipment Department in Willow Grove supports and encourages
its suppliers to develop innovations in productivity, fuel
efficiency and safety.
In late June, one of our major lift vendors, Altec Industries,
Inc., made a special trip to Asplundh's headquarters in Willow
Grove to demonstrate two of its latest and greatest aerial
lifts to sponsors and folks from the Equipment and Purchasing
Departments. The LRV60 E70 (shown below) is a versatile unit
that gives an extra 10 feet of reach through the use of an
elevator extension. The LRV56 (shown at right) has as much
or more reach than a standard 55-foot unit, but it has a smaller
chip box and chassis-good for grouping lifts into high production
mega-crews and saving on fuel.
Altec's Rick Germain was on hand to explain each lift's unique
features. He also pointed out those that are available on
both units, including:

Altec's
new LRV60 E70 lift was on display at Asplundh's headquarters
in Willow Grove in late June. Sponsors, along with
Equipment Dept. folks, got a chance to kick the tires
of this versatile unit that can be operated as a 60-foot
(65-foot working height) lift or it can reach 10 feet
higher with the use of its elevator extension. Mounted
on a rugged 138-inch GMC chassis, side reach ranges
from 45 to 49 feet. Shown here with a 12 cubic yard
chip box and chain saw lock box, the lift is also
available with a standard 14 cubic yard chip box..
