Entergy
Appreciation Dinner These Asplundh employees
more than earned their dinner! On May 19, 2000, over 19
inches of rain fell within 3 or 4 hours in Liberty, Texas.
Crews from the Eugene Wyatt Region were called out to
remove a large tree from a 13 kV line serving several
hundred Entergy/Gulf States customers. Crews worked in
water chest deep with flashlights and came through for
all the people left in the dark. An appreciation barbeque
dinner with all the trimmings was held on May 29 at the
Dayton Service Center in Dayton, Texas. Several folks
from Entergy/Gulf States attended, along with Supervisor
Martin Jasso and the heroic crews.

owner and driver Rick Judd (center). Driving the Connecticut
Formula 500 race car to victory was a cause for celebration
this year, since Rick won more events and accumulated
more points than any other driver to become the 2000 Sports
Car Club of America Champion in the F5 class. Rick has
helped spread the CBYD message for the past three years.
Good luck in 2001!

Help
for Earthquake Victims in El Salvador
Supervisor Ricky Vigil (left) is shown presenting
Julio Cardenas (right) with funds donated by fellow Asplundh
employees to benefit the earthquake victims in El Salvador.
These crews from the Martin Arriola Outsourcing Region
in Florida were working on storm related outages in Little
Rock, Arkansas, yet they still found the time to remember
fellow employees whose families were greatly affected
by the quake. A very generous $5,000 was raised by employees
in both Florida and Arkansas to assist those in need.
Many thanks to our hardworking and thoughtful employees.

Reaching
Great Heights in Connecticut Pictured at

crane which was used to reach and safely remove three
36" oak trees in the town of Seymour. The company's
reputation as a leader in the utility vegetation management
industry was certainly solidified in the successful completion
of this extremely complicated job for Connecticut Light
& Power.

2,000,000
Man-Hours Without a Lost Time Accident!
Over 530 employees of the Rod Cornett Region in northern
Illinois were treated to a hearty, delicious breakfast
buffet on April 5, served up by the managers and executives
of Asplundh and ComEd. They were being rewarded for working
safely day in and day out, chalking up two million man-hours
without a lost time accident. Amongst the "servers"
at this event were (inset photo, R to L) ATE President
Scott Asplundh and ComEd Vice President of Services Jim
Williams, seated with IBEW Local 9 Business Agent Bob
Pierson.
