Winners

1st
Prize - Nature
Teresa Cleghorn, Buford, Georgia
The excellent composition of the pink hibiscus blossoms combined
with the dark green of the foliage and a grey rock background
made this photo a winner (and a favorite of Teresa). She said
the pink flowers in her mother's rock garden in Flowery Branch,
Georgia caught her eye so she captured the image on film.
2nd
Prize - Nature
Pamela Frenier, Westport Island, Maine
Bright white birch bark and deep pink rhododendron blooms make
a nice contrast to the peaceful greenery of the Frenier's yard
this past June. While her husband Bill might be the master of
the garden, tool shed and bird feeders you see, Pamela is the
expert photographer who managed to get this lovely shot.

3rd Prize
- Nature
Bill Banks, Somers Point, New Jersey
Earlier this year, while on a visit to a friend's house near
the town of Dushore in Sullivan County, Pennsylvania, Bill tried
a long shutter exposure to blur what little water was falling
down the creek. It gave the water a softer look, making a nice
contrast to the crisp clarity of the woods and rocks around
it.

Honorable
Mention - Nature
Mike Gordon, Clare, Michigan
Although he never found pots of gold at the end of them, Mike
did find a beautiful pair of rainbows to photograph. While on
a family vacation to Glacier National Park in July 2000, a rainstorm
near Flathead Lake came through and as the sun returned, the
rainbows appeared. It was an unforgettable moment, just like
the snow they experienced when they got into the mountains!
