And
the Winners Are
Shoot Out 2000 Photo Contest Winners
Once again,
an awesome array of eye-catching entries kept our judges busy
trying to pick the winners of Shoot Out 2000, the annual photo
contest sponsored by the Corporate Communications Department.
Feast your eyes on these top notch "hot shots" (plus
a couple of honorable mentions).
Participation
increased again, compared to last year's competition. There
were 47 people who entered (compared to 44 last year) and in
addition to employees, some participants were customers of Asplundh,
family members and retirees! Our judges had to sort through
more than 166 photos -compared to 125 in 1999. With so many
potential winners, we added an Honorable Mention in each category.
Our talented
and lucky photographers who "hit the target" will
get their share of a total of $650 in prize money! First place
winners receive $150, while second and third place contestants
receive $100 and $75, respectively. Honorable Mention winners
receive a special Asplundh crystal candy dish. In addition,
Asplundh's Year 2001 wall calendar will feature photos by three
of our award-winning Shoot Out photographers.

Many thanks
to our three judges-Dave Kerper, Sr., owner of Kerper Studio
in Philadelphia, DOT Compliance Supervisor Billy Hughes, who
was our safety expert, and Executive Vice President George Graham,
who lent a sponsor's perspective to the judging. All three deserve
our deepest appreciation for their time and expertise in sorting
and ranking the numerous entries.
A huge thank-you
goes out to everyone who entered this year's Shoot Out. Keep
those cameras handy and get your entries ready for Shoot Out
2001!
