Asplundh
Buick-Pontiac-GMC
Our Dealership At Your Service
Since
1968, Asplundh has owned a GMC truck dealership an operation
that has not only sold thousands of trucks to individuals, but
has also helped Asplundh provide the best equipped crews in
the utility service industry!
While
the dealership has added Buick and Pontiac to its lineup of
top quality vehicles for sale, it is the GMC connection that
has made it possible to expand our fleet of lifts, split dumps
and general foremen's vehicles. It also allows us to maintain
them to the highest level.
In
addition, our field operations benefit from lower prices on
GM replacement parts because they can order them wholesale through
the dealership. And finally a factor that is difficult
to place a dollar value on is the service and advice
provided by the dealership's staff.

Tremendous
Growth
"We've
experienced tremendous growth since 1997," says General
Manager Tony Becker, who joined Asplundh three years ago. "In
fact, we've more than tripled sales in all three departments
parts, sales and service."
Asplundh
Buick-Pontiac-GMC is one of the top rated GMC dealerships in
the U.S. for medium-duty trucks. Located in Manahawkin, New
Jersey, not far from Atlantic City, the Asplundh dealership
can say some of its growth is related to the booming U.S. and
local economy. In addition, the Tree Co. and our utility equipment
rental subsidiary, Compass, also purchase a number of GMC chassis
through the dealership for their growing operations.
Tony
attributes the success of the dealership to the great team of
people working throughout the showroom and the shop who believe
in the long-term benefits of good service.
Parts
Manager Bob Bamert joined the dealership three years ago and
holds a Certificate of Automotive Management. He leads a group
of four employees, all of whom are GMC trained and certified.
They take pride in tracking down the right part at the right
price and getting it shipped overnight to our people in the
field, anywhere in the U.S. or Canada. The dealership's toll-free
number and extended hours make it even more worthwhile for our
employees to avoid paying high retail prices for GM parts.
In
addition to selling parts to the general public and the Tree
Co., the dealership also actively solicits wholesale business
from automotive repair shops the Manahawkin area. They offer
a delivery service as well.
Finance
and Insurance Manager Karl Koester just joined the dealership
team in April, but has already made great strides in developing
future growth. By promoting the sales of extended warranty plans,
the dealership can maximize the use of its Service Dept. over
longer periods of time.
There
aren't many operations that can triple their sales in three
years. Tony and his team should be proud of their accomplishments
in not only sales, but the outstanding service and cost savings
they provide to Asplundh and ultimately, our customers.
